It's been a very long couple of days, and at the moment Merriman would like nothing more than some peace and quiet for a few hours. But there are still a few more loose ends that need to be tied up -- some more immediately pressing than others -- and so he enters the bar tonight with a note.
[OOM: As evening falls, the acting governor of Port Royal and the daughter of the late governor of Port Royal settle a few outstanding financial and legal matters.
There's been a definite shift in the winds. Not the kind that requires a course correction or a sail change -- not yet, at least. But it's enough for Merriman to want to stay close to events as they happen, and so his visits to the bar have been infrequent of late

The door opens, and Merriman stalks in, his gait swaying a little at the sudden transition from being at sea to being on land. Without looking round, he heads straight across the room and places a folded piece of paper on the bar.
